…Guest Post: Better Survivorship Through Fitness…

Hello everyone!

Today I have another guest blogger.

Today I would like to introduce to you David Haas.  He is wanting to state some facts on the importance of exercise when it comes to health risk such as cancer.

Better Survivorship Through Fitness

The National Cancer Society states that not only is exercise proving to be an important part of preventing cancer, physical activity is also being investigated as an important part of cancer survivorship. Though previously patients recovering from cancers like mesothelioma were encouraged to rest, a small amount of physical activity can prove extremely healthy for them. Take a few moments to think about the types of exercise that you can engage in.

Walking
Walking is low impact exercise that can be done everywhere. If you are feeling tired, you can start by walking around your home. A quick walk around the block can quickly turn into a walk around two or three blocks, and before you know it, you have an exercise regimen started. This is something that can make a huge difference to how you feel and how your mood is. Getting out in the daylight and getting some exercise can make a huge difference when it comes to the rest you get and the general sense of wellness that you enjoy.

Stretches
When you are fully engaged in a thorough workout regimen, stretches will play a big part in the beginning and the end of it. However, when you are just getting started, you will realize that the stretches alone might be good enough. For example, simply start stretching your arms and your legs when you get out of bed in the morning, and then again when you lie down at night. This is something that can make a big difference and once you get the blood flowing, you will discover that you are ready for further exertion.

Small Weights
Pick up some two-pound weights and carry them around with you as you go through your home. Two pounds are a relatively small weight, but they do help you with some muscle tone. For example, carry the weights with you when you are walking or simply do curls as you sit and watch television. Weights can help you build up muscle tone, and you’ll find that simply having them in your hand is a great way to simply remind yourself about getting more fit. As you move forward, you might want to replace your small weights with slightly heavier ones. Even if you don’t intend to do weight lifting in the long-term, this can help you reach towards your eventual fitness goals.

Having some fitness goals in mind before you start can keep you on track. Think about what you want to do eventually and make sure that you start aiming your workouts appropriately. Big things happen when you take care of the little things, so move ahead under the speed that feels most appropriate to you.

yes exercise can help limit your risks and chances of getting some types of illnesses/diseases.  It is very important to try to create a regular workout routine that you can incorporate into your lifestyle and sustain that physical routine throughout your everyday routine.
